Overview
Restore the Village helps families address generational trauma, advocate for their children’s education and get more involved at school. The goal is stronger families, fewer missed school days and a community of support around every child.
Families can join our twelve-week parenting course, held once a week, and work one-on-one with our team. Each family gets coaching built around their own strengths and priorities, plus referrals to community classes and support groups.
We work alongside the Family Justice Center, the Contra Costa County Probation Department and Antioch Unified School District, so families can reach a full network of resources.
Family support
Four steps, led by your family
Our one-on-one support follows four steps. Families lead every step, can skip anything and can take a break at any time.
- 1
Intake conversation
45–60 minutes
A conversation, not a questionnaire. We start with your family’s strengths, then talk about what matters most to you.
- 2
Family ecomap
20–30 minutes
Together we map the people, places and resources around your family: who helps, which connections are growing, and where more support could help.
- 3
Goal-setting
30–45 minutes
Your family picks one goal and decides what success looks like. We agree on small, specific next steps and who will do what.
- 4
Follow-up
At each check-in
We check in on what’s gone well, what’s changed and what support would help now. Goals can be kept, adjusted or replaced.
What families can expect
Your family, your way
You lead
You decide what we talk about, who is included, and which goals to work on.
Private by default
What you share stays with the Bridge Builders team working with your family. The only exception is if someone may be at risk of harm, which we’ll talk through with you.
Flexible
Sessions can be split across visits, and plans can change whenever your family’s needs change.
